By requesting, booking or accepting our services, you agree to these Terms & Conditions, together with any quotation or written agreement provided for the particular job.

These Terms & Conditions do not affect any rights you have under applicable Irish consumer protection or other mandatory laws.

  • Tap repairs and replacement

  • Toilet repairs and replacement

  • Bathroom plumbing

  • Other plumbing work agreed with the customer

The exact services provided will depend on the requirements of each job and will be agreed with the customer before or during the work where reasonably possible.

3. Quotations and Estimates

Where appropriate, we may provide a quotation or estimate before work begins.

A quotation will normally describe the work included and the price or pricing basis.

An estimate is an indication of the expected cost and is not necessarily a fixed price.

Where additional work becomes necessary because of circumstances that could not reasonably be identified before the work began, we will explain the additional work and associated costs to you where reasonably practicable before proceeding.

Emergency situations may require immediate work to prevent further damage or risk.

4. Pricing

The price for a service will be agreed with you where reasonably possible before the work begins.

Depending on the nature of the job, the price may be based on:

  • A fixed quotation

  • An hourly or labour rate

  • A call-out or emergency charge

  • The cost of parts and materials

  • The scope and complexity of the work

  • Other charges specifically agreed with you

Where the final price cannot reasonably be calculated in advance, we will explain how the price will be calculated.

Any applicable taxes or additional charges will be communicated as required by law.

5. Additional Work

During plumbing work, we may discover problems that were not visible or reasonably identifiable when the original quotation or estimate was prepared.

Examples may include concealed leaks, damaged pipework, inaccessible fittings, corrosion, defective components or problems caused by previous installation work.

Where additional work is required, we will explain the issue and, where reasonably practicable, obtain your approval before carrying out additional chargeable work.

If immediate action is reasonably necessary to prevent significant damage or danger, we may carry out essential work without prior approval where it is not reasonably possible to contact you.

6. Access to the Property

You are responsible for providing safe and reasonable access to the property or area where the work is to be carried out.

You should inform us in advance of any relevant access restrictions, hazards or conditions that may affect the work.

If access is unavailable or unsafe, this may affect the scheduled appointment and any agreed timeframe.

7. Customer Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate information about the plumbing issue where possible.

  • Provide reasonable access to the relevant areas.

  • Identify the location of relevant water, electricity or other services where known.

  • Inform us of known hazards or previous plumbing work.

  • Follow reasonable instructions provided by our plumber to prevent damage or injury.

  • Make payment for completed services in accordance with the agreed payment terms.

8. Emergency Plumbing Services

Emergency plumbing work may need to be carried out quickly to minimise damage or risk.

In an emergency, our initial work may focus on making the situation safe, stopping or reducing water flow, isolating a fault or preventing further damage.

Further repair or replacement work may then be required.

Emergency work may be subject to different charges from standard scheduled appointments. Any applicable emergency charges will be communicated where reasonably practicable.

9. Parts and Materials

Where parts or materials are required, we will use materials that are appropriate for the agreed work.

The availability of specific brands, models or replacement parts may vary.

Where a particular part is unavailable, we may recommend a suitable alternative.

If you request a specific product, brand or component, we will use reasonable efforts to source it where available.

Where products or parts are supplied as part of our service, applicable statutory consumer rights continue to apply.

10. Existing Plumbing and Hidden Problems

Plumbing systems can contain defects or conditions that are not visible before work begins.

We are not responsible for pre-existing defects or damage that was not caused by our work.

However, where our work causes damage or fails to meet the applicable contractual or statutory requirements, we will address the matter in accordance with your legal rights.

11. Completion of Work

A job will generally be considered complete when the agreed work has been carried out.

Where appropriate, we may ask you to inspect the completed work.

If additional work is identified after completion, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible so that we can assess the issue.

12. Customer Complaints and Problems with Services

We aim to provide all services with reasonable care and skill and in accordance with the agreement made with you.

If you believe there is a problem with our work, please contact us promptly and provide details of the issue.

We will assess the matter and, where appropriate, arrange a reasonable solution.

Your statutory consumer rights are not affected by these Terms & Conditions.

Under Irish consumer law, consumers may have rights to have problems with a service remedied and, depending on the circumstances, may be entitled to a price reduction, refund or other remedy.

13. Payment

Payment is due in accordance with the payment terms agreed for the particular job.

Unless otherwise agreed, payment may be requested when the work is completed.

For larger projects, deposits, staged payments or other payment arrangements may be agreed in advance.

Where payment remains outstanding, we may contact you to request payment.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions limits any statutory rights you may have concerning defective or incomplete services.

14. Cancellation and Rescheduling

If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please contact us as soon as possible.

We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate changes to appointments.

Where a cancellation charge applies, it will only be charged where it has been clearly communicated and is lawful and fair in the circumstances.

For services arranged online, by telephone or away from our business premises, you may have a statutory right to cancel in certain circumstances.

Irish consumer law generally provides a 14-day withdrawal period for certain distance contracts and a 30-day period for certain off-premises contracts. However, there are exceptions, including certain urgent repairs and circumstances where the consumer requests that a service begins during the withdrawal period.

Where you ask us to begin work during an applicable cancellation period, we may be entitled to payment for services supplied before cancellation, subject to applicable law.

15. Guarantees and Warranties

Where Plumbing Heros provides a specific guarantee or warranty for particular work or parts, the details will be communicated to you.

Any manufacturer warranty relating to a supplied product may be subject to the manufacturer’s own terms.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or restricts statutory consumer rights.

16. Damage and Liability

We will take reasonable care when carrying out work at your property.

We are not responsible for damage that:

  • Existed before we attended the property;

  • Results from a pre-existing defect or weakness;

  • Results from inaccurate or incomplete information supplied by the customer;

  • Results from circumstances outside our reasonable control; or

  • Results from work carried out by another contractor or person.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable Irish law.

17. Health and Safety

We may stop or postpone work where we reasonably believe that the working environment is unsafe.

This may include situations involving:

  • Unsafe electrical installations

  • Gas-related hazards

  • Structural instability

  • Contaminated water or hazardous substances

  • Restricted or unsafe access

  • Other conditions presenting a significant risk to people or property

Where appropriate, we may recommend that another suitably qualified professional or relevant authority is contacted.

18. Delays and Events Outside Our Control

We will make reasonable efforts to attend appointments and complete work within agreed timeframes.

However, delays may occur because of circumstances outside our reasonable control, including:

  • Severe weather

  • Traffic or transport disruption

  • Supplier or parts shortages

  • Emergency call-outs

  • Access problems

  • Unexpected conditions at the property

  • Utility interruptions

  • Other circumstances beyond our reasonable control

Where a significant delay occurs, we will make reasonable efforts to keep you informed.

19. Photos and Records

Where reasonably necessary for quoting, carrying out or documenting plumbing work, we may take photographs of relevant plumbing installations or areas of work.

We will use such photographs for legitimate business purposes such as documenting the condition of a system, recording completed work, preparing quotations or dealing with service queries.

We will not use identifiable photographs of your property for public marketing purposes without an appropriate legal basis or your permission where required.

20. Privacy and Personal Data

We may collect and process personal information such as your name, telephone number, email address, property address and information about the service you request.

Personal information will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection law.

Please see our Privacy Policy for further information about how we collect, use and protect personal data.

We aim to keep the information on our website accurate and up to date.

However, website content is provided for general information and may change from time to time.

Service availability, pricing, appointment availability and other details may vary depending on the circumstances of a particular job.

A website description does not create a contract for a particular service unless expressly agreed with you.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to remove, restrict or reduce a consumer’s statutory rights.

Where a provision of these Terms & Conditions conflicts with a mandatory legal requirement, the applicable legal requirement will prevail.

The Consumer Rights Act 2022 provides important protections for consumers purchasing services in Ireland, including requirements concerning conformity with the contract, reasonable care and skill, remedies and fair contract terms.
